On Wednesday, May 6, Davis Jewelers in conjunction with internationally reknown artist and jewelry designer, Petra Azar, gave away 100 of Petra Azar's unique United Hearts to residents who had lost their jobs or homes. The pendant was a limited edition sterling silver magnetic heart pendant, designed as a metaphor for the "Magnetic Power of Love." This was a concerted effort to demonstrate unity and compassion for those who may not be able to afford a Mother's Day gift at a time when it is most important to show our loved ones that we care. Petra has been an advocate for the underprivileged for many years and each heart had a retail value of $199.

We gave away 75 pendants when the store opened at 10 a.m. and we ran out of pendants at 1:30 p.m. The recipients seemed to enjoy their new gift and many took the time to share their personal stories with us. It was a wonderful experience and we were fortunate to have the local media capture it.
