Fire and Ice Diamonds

Brilliant & Beyond Compare

Fire & Ice Diamonds are the result of extensive research conducted by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and the American Gem Society (AGS) concerning the behavior of light in a diamond. Building on this new understanding of the science of light return, Fire & Ice Diamonds are cut to precise angles and proportions to maximize the radiant light and sparkle emerging from the top of the gem.

Bigger, brighter and whiter, even compared to other Excellent and Ideal cuts, every Fire & Ice Diamond reaches the highest standard for cut, proportions, symmetry and light return from the GIA, AGS and Forevermark grading laboratories.

To ensure quality, value and peace of mind, each Fire & Ice diamond is inscribed with the GIA, AGS or Forevermark certificate number and the Fire & Ice diamond logo. Your Fire & Ice diamond may also be personalized with your own unique inscription.

FIRE & ICE DIAMOND:

Precision Rules

While many diamonds are spread too shallow or cut too deep to retain weight from the original rough — at a dramatic sacrifice of potential Brilliance, Fire and Scintillation — a Fire &Ice Diamond is cut to precise angles and proportions to maximize the radiant light and sparkle that emerge from the top.

Fire & Ice Cut

Diamonds cut to the precise portions will reflect and refract light in a vivid display of Brilliance, Scintillation and Fire.

Consistent

Every Fire & Ice Diamond consistently delivers a bigger, brighter and whiter appearance. That’s because Fire & Ice has a narrower set of acceptable proportions than GIA Excellent and AGS Ideal cut diamonds. When you compare any two Fire & Ice Diamonds, you’ll notice how remarkably similar they are in proportion, polish and symmetry.

Bigger

The precise angles of the Fire & Ice Diamond facets give it the largest diameter possible while efficiently reflecting light through the top. This allows the diamond to avoid light leakage and the “fisheye” effect. The Fire & Ice Diamond appears even larger than most other GIA Excellent and AGS Ideal cut diamonds.

Brighter

When a diamond is cut to Fire & Ice proportions, the light entering from any direction is completely reflected through the top as white light (Brilliance) dispersed rainbow colors (Fire) and sparkling flashes (Scintillation). Inside the diamond, the facets act as mirrors — and it is the careful arrangement of these facets to achieve maximum Brilliance balanced by Fire and accented by Scintillation that is the secret to the luminous Fire & Ice Diamond.

Whiter

The immense Brilliance of the Fire & Ice Diamond is the result of white light reflected through the top of the diamond. This is what allows a Fire & Ice Diamond to appear one or two color grades better than its actual GIA color classification.

CARAT, CLARITY, COLOR

Completing a Diamond’s Beauty

Carat

Carat weight is the easiest aspect of a diamond to understand. One carat equals 200 milligrams in weight. 1.00 carat is sometimes expressed as 100 points (0.75 ct. = 75 points, 1/2 ct. = 50 points). Since Fire and Ice Diamonds are of a superior cut, even a diamond of lesser weight maintains a higher value than inferior cuts.

Diamond Clarity Scale

Clarity

Since diamonds form under tremendous heat and pressure, it is extremely rare to find a diamond that lacks any internal and external characteristics. The size, nature, location and amount of such inclusions determine a diamond’s clarity grade and affect its value.

Diamond Color Scale

Color

Although many diamonds appear colorless, most have slight tones of yellow or brown. As these tones become less apparent and more colorless, the rarity and value of the diamond increases.
