A Milestone Marked in Rubies

Derby season has once again swept through Louisville in a flurry of elegance, tradition and unforgettable celebration — and this year, Davis Jewelers proudly played a starring role in the festivities. In partnership with Doves by Doron Paloma, Davis Jewelers helped bring sparkle, purpose and artistry to the 2025 Kentucky Derby Museum’s “Ruby Jubilee,” an event that honored the Museum’s 40th anniversary in spectacular style.

Inline PhotoThe Kentucky Derby Museum’s annual gala was reimagined this year as the Ruby Jubilee, commemorating four decades of storytelling, education and celebration around one of the world’s most iconic sporting events. At the center of it all was Ashley Davis Sigman, Vice President of Davis Jewelers, who served as Chairperson of the Ball and continues to serve on the Museum’s Board of Directors. Her love for Derby season — and for the city of Louisville — helped shape an unforgettable evening that blended pageantry, philanthropy and personal passion.

Davis Jewelers has long supported the Derby’s cultural legacy, previously bringing in luxury partners like Longines and David Yurman for special collaborations. This year, the tradition continued with a new creative force: Doron Paloma of Doves.

The Doves Design That Captivated the Room

Inline PhotoTo mark the Ruby Jubilee, Davis Jewelers commissioned a bespoke necklace from Doves, a design house celebrated for its architectural inspiration and red-carpet-worthy creations. The result was a breathtaking 18K yellow gold necklace adorned with rubies and mother-of-pearl, featuring a sculptural horse-head motif. Created exclusively for the gala, the piece embodied the elegance and spirit of the Derby — and was raffled during the event, with proceeds benefiting the Museum’s educational and historical programming.

Doron Paloma himself traveled to Louisville for the week’s festivities. He joined Davis Jewelers for a special trunk show on April 9 and attended the VIP premiere of the Museum’s remastered 360° film The Greatest Race on April 10. His presence helped reinforce the strong connection between artistry and tradition — a theme that carried throughout the entire season.

A Celebration Across the City

In addition to the gala, Doves jewelry was also featured at the Kentucky Derby Museum Hat Show on March 23, where pieces from Paloma’s collection graced the runway and were made available to guests. From runway glamour to philanthropic impact, the collaboration between Davis Jewelers and Doves brought luxury and meaning to every event it touched.

Throughout the season, ruby-inspired details echoed through the Museum’s festivities — from floral arrangements to fine jewelry — and helped tell the story of a community coming together to honor its heritage. As always, the Kentucky Derby Museum served as more than a backdrop; it was the beating heart of Derby Week, hosting thousands of visitors from around the world while supporting local students through field trip programming and inclusive exhibits like Black Heritage in Racing.

Looking Back, Looking Ahead

For Davis Sigman and the entire Davis Jewelers team, this Derby season was a powerful reminder of how Louisville shines at its brightest when tradition, artistry and purpose come together. From the one-of-a-kind Doves pendant to the vibrant energy of the Ruby Jubilee, the 2025 Kentucky Derby Museum events were a celebration of everything that makes this season so magical — and Davis Jewelers was honored to be part of it.

As the horses return to pasture and the fascinators are packed away, we’re already looking forward to the next chapter in this enduring story. Until then, we’ll treasure the memories — and the sparkle — of a truly extraordinary Derby season.
