Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 40mm Blue Dial Watch

A signature of Oris watchmaking since 1938, the Big Crown Pointer Date preserves the distinctive design originally created for pilots while bringing its timeless character into the present. Its oversized crown and central pointer date hand remain defining elements of the collection, giving this classic mechanical watch an unmistakable identity rooted in Oris’s aviation heritage. The 40mm multi-piece stainless steel case frames an inky blue dial with the collection’s characteristic pointer date display, where a central hand indicates the date around the dial’s perimeter. A sapphire crystal, domed on both sides and treated with anti-reflective coating on the interior, enhances clarity while reinforcing the watch’s vintage-inspired profile. The screwed stainless steel caseback incorporates a mineral-glass viewing window for a glimpse of the mechanical movement within. Powering the watch is the automatic Oris Calibre 754-1, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4 Hz, and providing approximately 41 hours of power reserve. The movement drives central hours, minutes and seconds as well as the signature central date hand, with instantaneous date change, date correction and stop-seconds functionality. Finished with a leather strap, the Big Crown Pointer Date combines classic proportions and aviation-inspired details with the warmth of its deep blue dial.
